Here’s another good video from Brain Flechsig’s ongoing series on fly casting Mad River Outfitters in Columbus, Ohio. Here he gives two basic tips: 1. Always start and end the cast with the tip of the rod low; and 2. the timing of the instrumentation is simple 4/4 time. But if you watch the full video, you’ll learn a lot more, from how many times you break your wrist to how to perform the double pull. After watching the video, grab your rod and head to the lawn at a local body of water to try and put these principles into action.
